Jul. 14th, 2005 01:25 pmIt's too hot. It feels as though it's been too hot for as long as I can remember, which I know is nonsense. Apparently this wonderful weather is set to continue for at least the next week, after which we might have a bit of a heatwave. So I'm told.
These days, when I'm too hot (by my own standards, which are low compared to almost everyone I know) my brain shuts down. I become uncommunicative (oh all right, *more* uncommunicative) and tend not to think much about what I'm doing. In later stages I black out for minutes at a time, and eventually just fall asleep.
My good and proactive team leader, hearing today of my plight, forthwith found me a fan and an extension wire and established, by burrowing under my desk, that the only available socket was blocked by a leg of said large and ungainly desk. I then proceeded to upset my neighbour, who is pretty much hanging by a thread herself, by trying to run the wire across the back of her desk without asking or even speaking to her first. I have apologised for this, but I still feel bad.
The line to thwap me forms on the right.
