Repost just in case
Feb. 21st, 2013 10:30 amBecause, let's face it, social media are not the most ideal way of bringing things to people's attention, and everyone has big flists and friends pages move quite quickly and it's easy for something to get buried in the TL:DR pile if it's only announced once.
So I would like to mention once again that my fantasy novel Tetrad is now complete and available for download in a choice of three popular e-reader formats, from the Episodes/Plays page on http://www.avevale.org to be precise, and invite all and sundry to read, enjoy, and let me know what you think of it. And even if you have no intention of doing anything of the kind, if you only read hard SF or shun novels with one-word titles or never read anything electronic, there may be someone on your flist who would be interested if only they knew...so I would be very grateful if you would spread the word about my site in general and this completed project in particular.
Last time I'll mention it, honestly.

No, it wasn't, though it might have to be that big for Jan's benefit.
I'll reconvert and reupload. I must have done something silly. Thank you.

Date: 2013-02-21 09:53 pm (UTC)May I make some hopefully constructive suggestions? You might want to say right at www.avevale.org that it is the site for your fiction, so that people who arrive there know they are in the right place. Being asked to log in might scare off some people, so you might want to mention that people can read your stuff and donate without logging in, and you might want to explain the advantages of logging in (which currently are a mystery to me). And once you have completed a story, you might want to put the pdf, epub, and mobi files for the complete story before the files for the individual sections.

Date: 2013-02-22 08:37 am (UTC)I've had a peek and enjoyed the drabbles. It was easy to navigate. Lovely photo of you! Two things to change:
- I couldn't find the donate button, and I was expecting one. The casual visitor might not even be aware you'd like a donation. Stick it in the frame, top right or at the bottom of the menu. Mention that you're trying to make a living at this and appreciate donations in your profile.
- I didn't even consider logging in. As mentioned above, you need to sell this a bit. Maybe under the description of Avevale on the home page?
