Black patch

Sorry I've been quiet lately, but things have been fraught in all the usual ways. We've watched a bunch of stuff on telly that I'd have liked to wibble about, but I haven't had the spare wibble space. Avengers Assemble was good, as was The Pirates! Hunderby (alleged black comedy) seems to have one joke (things were crap for women in the olden days, ba-boom) and has hammered it into the ground. Warehouse 13 is back and that's good. Red Dwarf is back and I can't help questioning Dave's wisdom in playing the previous series in reverse order, so that we went straight from young, fresh-faced Rimmer, Lister and the Cat to, well, the same excellent actors at their current ages. Even Kryten looks older. (Yes, I know it was supposed to be a countdown, but I don't think it worked that well in practice.) But it was nice to see it again.

I'm reading Jo Walton's Among Others, despite being nearly put off by the various opinions being batted around. So far I think it's good.

But I'm still here, still reading, still feeling for those among my friends who are going through horrendous black patches of their own, and still writing.

Hugs for anyone who would welcome one, from the tall hairy idiot sinking slowly in the west.

Even though I neither know you as well as I should like nor think you an idiot (but that might just be because I do not know you that well) and would leave the position of "west" open to debate as it really is a rather relative position to where one is oneself, I'd welcome a hug.
