Nothing. It's all here. Show me any of those other answers and I can probably point you at an example of it. Most of those I've seen seem to be based on the idea "well, I am a shining example of this quality, so I think there should be more of it," which (even if it's true, and mostly it is) is not what I understand by "missing."
If more people used more of the love in their hearts, tried harder to understand each other, and to judge and condemn less, that would be good, but again, it's not "missing." And I am as bad as anyone else in that respect.

Unobtainium.
Interstellar spaceships.
Talking cats.
But I agree, most of the answers were not of things which are missing completely, they are things of which the poster would like to see more. One of the early answers said: "There is no understanding or tolerance of other religions" -- this is provably incorrect, there are lots of people who do have understanding and tolerance (and more than tolerance, welcoming) of other religions, it's just that they aren't in a majority.

To wonder if there's something missing..."

But as you say, nothings missing. But some things are mighty scarce...

Date: 2011-11-08 12:45 am (UTC)In (slightly) more seriousness: if one subscribes to the Many Worlds theory, in this world we are missing all the complete Beatles reunions, the anniversary of the groundbreaking for the first lunar colonies, the Star Wars prequel trilogy as directed by Peter Jackson, and the newpox pandemic of 2009. On the other hand, a lot of those other worlds are missing the Internet, the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe, the legalization of gay marriage anywhere, and/or the waffle cone.
If everything happens somewhere, it probably all balances out.
