Yesterday we had [livejournal.com profile] soren_nyrond and Anne the Angel drop by, on their way back from St. Briavel's, and it was very good. I roasted a turkey and some spuds, and Soren peeled some sprouts, and after we had eaten I noodled a bit on the downstairs keyboard while Anne and the Countess set the world to rights and Soren sat on the stairs reading. It was a relaxed time with good friends whom we see far too seldom, because as Jan says, they have lives. We're hoping to do it again in March.

I've had a bit of a crise about my voice, which comes of listening to the new album for too long and becoming painfully aware of where it fails to come up to my expectations, but I'm on the way out of it now thanks to kind friends whose encouraging words it would be churlish to doubt. So hopefully soon I'll be back on the recording horse.

I have now got a FoHK t-shirt, and it doesn't look too bad. I still have to work out how to get it done in black or other colours, but I know I made it work with the Mershane designs, so don't worry, Keris, I'll get to it. :) I've also updated the Stuff page, and put a link to it and to the album page on my LJ profile. (It's here in case you're looking.)

And that's roughly where we are. How are you?

I've listened to FoHK--that is you singing, right? Because the vocals are quite nice.

If it makes you feel any better I hit a point with all the Echo's Children albums where I just couldn't bear to listen anymore because all I could hear were my own anxieties. I grimly did the listening required to finish the projects and then didn't listen again. For years. Yet people were apparently reasonably happy with the CDs.

So I think these kinds of feelings are just normal for some vocalists and not an indication that there is something wrong with the music, the artist, or the performance.
