Jan's eye checkup went well, we think. That she cannot see anything through that eye is not a problem, and we are to continue with the drops for the next four weeks.

Crawling through Bristol I saw "Apollo 18" on the side of a bus. I had no idea this film existed, and the title struck me with some force, because although it's been used numerous times in the past few years I had, believe it or not, never encountered it.

Looking the thing up, I see it's going to be one of these "found footage" films, where the idea is to make it look as rubbishy as possible. I will be glad when this particular fad has had its day. Once or twice it's funny, like those Dennis Wheatley whodunnits that included all the clues (and I admit a younger I was charmed by one of those) but in the end the point of fiction is that it is not real, and the closer you try to get it to reality the slower you go and the less you achieve. The only logical end result of this process is two hours of static, from which the hapless viewer must deduce his or her own story, and I wouldn't pay for that.

So I probably won't bother with that one, unless Jan urgently wants to see it. Shame.

nuWho starts again on Saturday. *fingertwirl* Whoop te do. And on Monday we go back to Flatland, because the DC has an appointment for a hearing test, and can't find anyone who'll take her, she says. Fortunately we have somewhere to stay this time, thanks to Jan's cousin Maureen.

Life continues, in other words. Which is probably better than the alternative.

The bit I saw about it was something about a conspiracy to cover it up, and looked possibly intersting (to me). I doubt it's one I'll bother going to see at a cinema (unless I happen to be with people who want to see it) but I might look at a DVD when it comes out.

I'm glad to hear all is going well with the eye. *hugs* and good wishes for continued smooth, and full healing.
