Well, I would have liked to get the Mellotron book I mentioned from the library, but they don't have it in stock and they can't buy any new stuff till the new budget comes out in April, if then.

In other news, Mercury still proving elusive. I may have to get some round-headed push pins, if they still do them, and use one of those. It would be about the right size, and I found some Smiths vouchers when I was tidying the room that may still be valid.

Time for guitar practice.

EDIT in mid-session: coo. I found a barre chord I can just about do, which gives me B major and enables me to get all the way through the song from "Desperado" (admittedly at a slow, meditative tempo as opposed to the furious mariachi stomp Los Lobos make of it). So yay. I'll be practising that one.

(Oh, and while we're at it; the scene that hooked me into a film I would probably never have chosen to watch. Steve Buscemi doing what a Nyrond does best, walking defenceless into the lion's den and selling him dentures.)

Barre on the second fret, and the remaining fingers do an A. Seems to work. I don't know what chords they use, but what I do sounds right.

Which clip doesn't work? They both seem fine to me.

Yes, that's the 'official' (or at least usual) barre chord for a B. I don't do barre chords at all.

The second one was the one I tried, it just downloaded nothing at all yesterday evening. Other YouTube clips I tried worked fine. Possibly some internal-to-YouTube glitch if it works now, I can try again this evening.
