A thought on childhood

It occurred to me, in conversation with someone else just now, that I have by this stage in my life questioned, re-examined, and in most if not all cases thrown out every major decision I made between the ages of, say, eight and sixteen. The only exceptions I can think of are in my musical and literary tastes, and even those have broadened to a degree that would have disgusted my younger purist self.

I may still be an idiot, but I am a different kind of idiot to the one I was then, and I think I like the change.

I like this as a definition of growth :). It sort of supports the idea of constant evolution and change as we learn and experience more and the iterations that spring out of it. The way I look at it, it's a lifelong process and I'll be an even different *me* 20 years from now. I like it too :).
