Trying to put a lead guitar part on the last verse of "Home At Last."
I know it's what it needs--what it's needed since I first came up with the arrangement and realised you can't do lead guitar properly with a keyboard however nice the synth voice is. But boy, am I bad. I can hit the right notes--most of the time--and hit them reasonably well, but I don't hold them long enough, and there's this sort of out-of-tune resonance that keeps going in between, and I really want to be able to do intonation the way good guitarists do, and if I could only hear the damn effect while I was playing--
And the Countess, after just two days of practising, can play the melody line of "None Question" on the keyboard perfectly more than half the time. Two days. Actually, less than two hours. This is the woman who insists she's not musical, nuh-uh, can't carry a tune in a bucket. If only she could get rid of the nagging little voice that keeps telling her that, and stop second-guessing herself, she'd be amazing at it. As she is as most other things. Including everything I'm more or less okay at.
I am a vertically challenged person among giants. Also, I need lessons.
