The fruits of my labours

Vaguely discernible among the complete and utter disorder, maybe...

Here you can see how the Countess's work on the chimney breast, done back when she still had all her eyesight, now blends brilliantly into the colour scheme she planned. If you hear her say she didn't do anything towards this job, do bear in mind that it was all her idea and her design. I just managed not to botch the execution too badly.

The view through into the conservatory, currently being used to pot up plants whenever the Countess has the energy. The wall on the right is going to be a darker shade of green, but Jan isn't sure what shade just yet, so that will be another shifting job at some point...

We went into a second-hand furniture shop last week and found this table and six chairs for fifty pounds. The top needs resurfacing, but it's still an amazing bargain and the sort of thing we usually only ever hear about other people finding. Unfortunately they don't seem to want the one we had, which is now taking up the utility room...

Large amounts of spare carpet; the three long bags of offcuts are round the corner. One of these bits is going to be edged and be a runner in the conservatory; what we'll do with the rest I have no idea.
At the moment, I'm just glad it's done. But it does look nice.
