Here, by courtesy of my favourite Magdalene [livejournal.com profile] valydiarosada, is a somewhat Elgarian (at least, that's what I was aiming for) treatment of her wonderful song "Following In Valentina's Footsteps."

Valentina's March

I'm particularly fond of the ending.

Oh, definitely Elgarian, especially the slow sections in the middle and the ending. This is much fun...

(I also listened to your 'Meditation', which is totally different and also good in a relaxing way...)

Like the end :D It wants but for a kettledrum or three to be perfect :D

I worry that I overuse the kettledrums because I love them so much, so it was a conscious decision to leave them out of this.

I am not familiar with Elgar, so cannot speak to that. It didn't work quite as well as the others for me, not sure if that's length or something about the change from beginning bit to slow section (must listen again), but I *do* like the ending, yes :)

Hehe! Pomp and Valentina. Or should that be Space of Hope and Footsteps?

I had great fun imagining the entire filkcon standing up and singing, with you conducting from the podium.

Thank you! :D
