GRAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH

Back when I had money, I got Jan a fairly good graphics package and also Dragon NaturallySpeaking. She had long spoken about wanting to be able to dictate to the computer rather than grappling with the keyboard, and Dragon NaturallySpeaking is supposed to be the best package of that kind around. I was looking forward to her enjoying these presents, so I was pleased when she finally got around to installing them yesterday.
We have discovered over the last two days that neither the fairly good graphics package, nor Dragon NaturallySpeaking, have any way of making their controls visible to someone with partial sight. In the process, both Jan and I have been reduced to tears and rage. I have tried emailing the publisher of the FGGP, but they do not appear to have an actual, you know, EMAIL ADDRESS that you can just contact them on. (I phoned them, and spoke to a very pleasant Indian lady who had no idea what I was talking about.) Neither do Nuance, who publish Dragon NaturallySpeaking and bombard us with stupid spam on a daily basis, but I do have a customer PIN with them thanks to my struggles with OmniPage, so I have sent them a stinking piece of customer feedback, because I am damn well fed to the teeth with being polite. Of all the things in the world that upset me, Jan's disappointment is the worst, and I have been pretty much deluged with it this year, and I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. I don't really actually give that much of a damn if someone at Nuance is a little offended by my tone. I am offended by their existence.
And yes, we have tried all the obvious things like using the screen magnifier, and it doesn't help.
Comments disabled, not because I don't love you, but because I don't honestly want to think about this or, indeed, anything much at the moment. I am actually about done with life at this point.
