1. Do you have the sheer unadulterated brass neck to answer these questions and post them as The Really Really Controversial Survey?
No, but since I'm the author, I don't have to.
2. Would you go and see Emerson Lake and Palmer if they were touring?
3. The Alan Parsons Project: for or against it?
4. Do you think Yes would fail without either Jon Anderson or Steve Howe?
5. Do you believe in death metal?
6. Do you wish Peter Gabriel and Genesis would get back together already?
7. Are you for or against the use of mandolins in prog rock?
8. Do you believe in Mike Oldfield?
9. Do you think eight keyboards is too many?
10. Do you think it's wrong that most decent rock music these days comes from Europe?
11. A folk singer has an electric guitar; should she play it?
12. Should the maximum level on amplifiers be lowered to nine?
13. Should the next revival of disco be called off?
14. Contrapuntal experimentation is unfashionable; do you agree?
15. Do you believe in air guitar playing?
16. Would you burn a bootleg CD for a million dollars?
17. Who do you think would make the better subject for a concept album, Obama or McCain?
18. Am I afraid others will judge me from reading some of these questions?
I'm counting on it. :)
No, but since I'm the author, I don't have to.

2. Would you go and see Emerson Lake and Palmer if they were touring?
TRF!
3. The Alan Parsons Project: for or against it?
It was pretty darn good, I'm for it.
4. Do you think Yes would fail without either Jon Anderson or Steve Howe?
Without both of them, yes. Without Jon it would falter.
5. Do you believe in death metal?
Certainly.
6. Do you wish Peter Gabriel and Genesis would get back together already?
'Wish' is too strong. Like many bands I would like to see if they could get the old magic back, but if they can't then I'd rather they didn't try.
7. Are you for or against the use of mandolins in prog rock?
Mandolins, yes. Banjos, however, belong in heavy metal (that bit with the knife)...
8. Do you believe in Mike Oldfield?
I believe he has existed, yes. I don't think he's the Messiah or anything.
9. Do you think eight keyboards is too many?
Not when you're Rick Wakeman or Keith Emerson or others of that standard.
10. Do you think it's wrong that most decent rock music these days comes from Europe?
I don't know whether it does. I'm not all that up on modern rock.
11. A folk singer has an electric guitar; should she play it?
If she can play it, sure.
12. Should the maximum level on amplifiers be lowered to nine?
No way, man! Eleven, and have the extra overdrive switch in. Everything louder than everything else!
13. Should the next revival of disco be called off?
Call it whatever you like, I still won't enjoy it
14. Contrapuntal experimentation is unfashionable; do you agree?
Most things I like are unfashionable, so it probably is.
15. Do you believe in air guitar playing?
I have, but it's private until I get back there and undo it...

15. Do you believe in air guitar playing?
<I believe that it happens all the time.
16. Would you burn a bootleg CD for a million dollars?
Sure. Especially from one of the bands who allow people to burn bootlegs for free. Sell it, no.
17. Who do you think would make the better subject for a concept album, Obama or McCain?
McCain. I'm into dark metal. And then at the end we can treat him like a guitar...
18. Am I afraid others will judge me from reading some of these questions?
I expect they will. I don't much care...
