(Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] iamza):

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now (even if we don't speak often or ever) please post a comment with a completely made up, fictional memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - but it has to be fake.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your LJ and see what your friends come up with.

Remember when we were in 10th grade and had just passed our Flyer's Ed midterms? And you had that great idea about borrowing the principal's spaceskimmer? We buzzed that collection of Space Marines, and then it was my turn to drive, but we ran out of reaction mass on the far side of Io--remember? I thought we were dead, but you said we should try filling the tank with the remains of our soda pop. And it worked too, except that the computer was partially meatware and the extra sugar made it drunk. I had so much fun flying that thing. And really, how was I to know that coffee would only make it worse? Really, the principal took the whole thing much too hard. It was insured, after all.

Good times, Zander; good times.

It would have to be when we met in the Library, both of us with Books stacked so high in our arms, we couldn't see, and *bam*, smacked right into each other. So, when it turned out we both had what the other person was looking for, we exchanged KI numbers, and have been friends ever since :)

I still maintain you can't *prove* who did that to the wall. And I know it wasn't either of us because we were both ...elsewhere... at the time. And there's no way either Soren or Teva would have had access to the eggs *or* the purple paint. Still, the coffee was nice.

I was attracted by the flame of the bunsen burner and the smell of something indescribable coming from the bubbling green liquid in the Erlenmeyer flask above it. Scanning the work bench I see the notebook lying open a few feet to my left. I walk over to the notebook, and as I put on my reading glasses and reach out towards the open page, I hear the door open, and in your best Karloff you say "Of all the laboratories in all the castles in all of Transylvania, you had to walk into mine"

I only remember that you wore some fishy uniform and tried to get everyone around to join you on your flying submarine. I guess it was a good thing that I was too drunk to get up and follow you - from what I heard you are a horrible pilot. But the uniform was ... interesting. ;-)

Sure! You were Filk Guest of Honor at Arisia, and I successfully got you more and more boggled by getting to every one of your schedule items just ahead of you and leaving a little pile of fine white sand at each of them.

I miss the evenings sitting on the balcony at ZanderKrak, looking out as the sun went down. A glass of something each (Silver Dragon and Cider, as I recall) and the big jugs on the floor for refills. Teva was usually Weaving and we had moglets wandering round our feet.

I miss the long talks over stories, and the hurried writing of filks, and the sun going down as we sang, and the chill of evening, swirling round, till it forced us inside, for boglais and trop.

Oh, you think you actually deserve a paragraph, asshole? I have never in my life met such a vain, self-worshipping, piteous excuse for a sentient being since Asmodeus. You're a liar, you're a thief, and you owe me back child support. You weren't even that good at it and I'm telling all my friends. You just wait until the process server finds you, hon. Until then, don't even bother because I won't read it.

I'm not sure whether I'm more astounded by your suggestion that we kayak around the Apostle Islands in that storm, or by my going along with it.

Remember that time we got drunk on papaya smoothies together? And I figured out how to take over the world using only some soup and a spool of thread?

I still think that would have worked if you hadn't talked me out of it.

Then there was that time in the market on Erewhon 4, when you tried to sell me my own grandmother. I was not best pleased, as I had just paid a Ferengi an extortionate sum to take her off my hands. Still it could have been worse. You could have tried to sell me my own mother...

Still, the bartender at the Golden Salamander mixes a mean Photon Torpedo and we sang some great songs.

Now about that piece of real estate. You didn't tell me it was a full five fathoms deep...

It was a great visit...you, the Countess and I sneaked into Stonehenge on the night of a full moon. The weather was pleasant, the sky was clear, and we watched her come up, starting so large, and moving up and up to behold her children. The ritual was lovely, and clearly the invisibility spell worked since we didn't get caught.

Let's do it again sometime!
