I have just registered both of us for Redemption 2009.

This is something of a milestone. For longer than I care to think about, the only cons I have been to with the Countess have been filk cons. Which we both enjoy, but it has been noted by the lady in passing on several occasions that we always get to do what I like to do, and she, being under the immovable delusion that she is not musical, often feels a bit like a fifth wheel at filk events. Since we've been ill, we haven't been going to anything, which is not healthy.

We now have the loan of a wheelchair from the Red Cross, which made yesterday's hospital appointment immeasurably easier for her. We both hope this won't be a permanent thing, and that the physiotherapy her GP has promised to arrange will make getting about on her legs more feasible, but the fact that the option exists in itself makes the idea of going places no longer the impossible dream it was a week ago. Coventry's a long way, but unless something drastic happens between now and then (always a possibility) I think it should be doable.

There's many a slip 'twixt the plan and the trip, but here's hoping.

Good news there on all fronts!

Didn't I say last year that a wheelchair, while not necessarily a permanent need, could be extremely useful on occasion?
