Further gardenage
Jul. 30th, 2008 11:45 pmAnother four and a half hours today, this time hacking back the magnolia, which was stupidly trying to bud again, so we've probably traumatised it for life...but if you don't do things when you have the energy, you can't do them when you haven't, and we need to be able to walk around these trees. The apple will have to wait till it's finished appling. BTW, if anyone wants huge amounts of Bramleys and possibly some unidentified dessert species, give it a few more weeks and come and get 'em. There's more than we can possibly use, and I hate to see them rotting on the ground. They're probably even organic.
Discovered a surviving fuchsia under the bindweed. Hope we haven't killed it.
Have an angle grinder for chopping up the ex-shed, and are considering hiring a shredder to get rid of vast tottering piles of holly and magnolia cuttings. Have moved and emptied compost bin and replaced incinerator.
Am knackered. Even more so than yesterday. Sense of achievement wearing a touch thin.
