Do not download and install patch 1.6 at this point. I just checked back on the forums and it mucks the game up. Unfortunately, I had already bunged it in. Guess I'll be doing something else till I know if there's a fix.

EDIT: Correction, apparently the problems people were reporting were attributable to another cause. The patch seems to be fine. Sorry about that.

So, as a fellow user (who has stayed off the game since your timely warning), if it wasn't the patch what was it that bollixed your system ?

Nothing did. Sequence of events:

Zander downloads and installs patch.
Zander reads messages on forum saying patch is bad.
Zander passes word like a good community member.
Zander stays off game till later, when
Zander reads messages saying no it isn't patch it's something else.
Zander starts game and it works fine.
Zander feels like idiot and issues correction.

In other words, whatever the "something else" is I haven't got it, and I don't expect you have either. It doesn't affect anything but the game itself anyway. So please disregard the warning. I'm starting to feel like the Guy Who Kills Games For Soren, and that isn't any part of what I want to do.
