Jan's half brother Mervyn died at some point in the last week, we found out last night. The funeral is tomorrow, but I think we've decided just to send a wreath and phone his widow. There hasn't been much contact with that half of the family in the last several years, either way, and it's kind of short notice to drive up.

Just found it down the side of Jan's chair. Looks like as if (see what I mean? SEE WHAT I MEAN???)[1] it never made it out of the house.
