...it should probably be "The Gallifrey Chronicles" by Lance Parkin. I bought it because it purports to be the last one, tying the novel series in to the canon (such as remains of it) and leading into the new Doctor. It's actually great fun, and you don't have to have read all the preceding ones to enjoy it. I might have to now, though, if this is the standard...

I think the duplication occurred 'cos I moved house, and lost track of the latest clutch that I'd ordered but not read. Having since scrutinised my past Amazon orders carefully, there's still one that I've apparently bought and received in that same batch, but can't find anywhere... =:o\
Re. your Raxacoricofalapatorian tendencies: I've been there. Paradoxically, eating *more* peas and similar veg seemed to help... YMMV.
