Jan update for Wednesday (it is Wednesday, isn't it?)

They want to do an MRI of Jan's foot to see if the infection has got into the bone, but they don't know when. Asked if it would be worthwhile getting a weekly ticket on the bus instead of the day returns I've been getting, the doctor said yes, probably. Though I may take tomorrow off and try to get some housework done.

I took my iPad in loaded with talking books, but she was in the middle of one of the old ones on hers, so didn't want to change horses in midwhatever. The wifi problem remains unresolved. She is eating normally now, and her blood sugars are good, but TMI remains a problem, and she's still more than normally tired and depressed. Highlight of the visit was three doctors trying to change her cannula, looking for a place to insert the new one but looking (as I remarked at the time) in vein. "It's because I'm so fat," said Jan apologetically. Everyone looked at her arms, on which there is not an ounce of spare flesh, and forbore to comment. (I did suggest that it might be a response to changing atmospheric conditions, but weather veins is not a condition they seem familiar with.) Eventually the problem was resolved, and I came away.

So that's the posish to date. I'm going for cautious optimism.

My love to Jan and I hope she's better soon and out of the hospital. I wish I could help with the iPad problem, but it's not one I've ever come across.

Is there a chance that someone in charge will see that these caring duties are a bit too much for one person and help you to get help?
