Making the Best, continued

For anyone who has just joined us, or doesn't read cut-tagged stuff unless they know what's in it...
"Making the Best" is an ongoing fanfic based on the universe of the Myst series of games. It is set some time after the completion of the final game in the series, and takes as its starting point one of the possible endings of that game. By the nature of fanfic, it does contain some spoilers: but they are, as far as I can manage, purely to do with setting and backstory, not gameplay, and I am avoiding (so far) giving anything away as regards Myst V (apart from the possible ending as previously admitted). If I have to, it will be amply signposted.
