Arising from a FB discussion on fat-shaming and Fat Acceptance, but tangential to it in that the song does not represent my actual feelings about the issue, or not quite anyway. The third verse came first and just shaped it that way.

Days of Billy Bunter
TTTO "Days Of Pearly Spencer" by David McWilliams

Verse
A public school in England fair
Where noble sons learn not to care
And how to treat the ones who dare
To set themselves apart

You live on buns and ginger beer
The only way to choke the fear
Of every blow and every jeer
That cuts you to the heart

Chorus
The days of Billy Bunter
Ah ah ah
The weight is almost gone

Verse
You know you were designed by fate
To be the butt of scorn and hate
Because you are so overweight
So what else can you be?

You'll play your hand and play the role
Let hatred cauterise your soul
And practice iron self-control
To change your destiny

Chorus
The days of Billy Bunter
Ah ah ah
The weight is almost gone

Verse
Billy where's your double chin
However did you get so thin
They must have cut off yards of skin
And starved you to the bone

But now you look so lean and neat
Revenge is going to be so sweet
You'll make them all so scared to eat
They'll get their stomachs sewn

Chorus
The days of Billy Bunter
Ah ah ah
The weight is almost gone

Chorus
The days of Billy Bunter
Ah ah ah
The weight is almost gone

Whoa. Wow.

...that's about as coherent as I am right now. Great lyrics.
