We're thinking about going, by which I mean that we'd very much like to go and if we're up to the travelling on the day we will be going. Unfortunately such is the sporadic and unreliable state of spoon supply that I can't be much more definite.

So which would be better in people's opinion: to go up to Northampton as if on the way to the DC's and then down, or to brave les rondes de Milton Keynes and go up? After the computer dished out that unnecessarily hellish though admittedly breathtaking in daylight route to Porthmadog I'm not taking any chances...

Northampton then down. Far easier.

Northampton then down, or head for *south* of MK, then up the M1, if that's a reasonable alternative.

Have to say from where you are I'd head up the A34 through Bicester and keep going up the Buckingham road and into MK, it's pretty much a straight road, including the bit through MK - you will pass the Open University turn, which is pretty well signposted, and by the time you get to that point the M1 will be signposted, and you just need to go straight over it, from looking at the map.

But I know the road and Milton Keynes fairly well, so if other people think you should go the way you know, then do it!

Wrong side of the Pond. My very warmest prayers and thanks for his life and all the goo he did and spreak.

(That's supposed to be "good" and "spread". OK, Loiosh, I agree: it's nap time.)

Google Maps sez:

We could not calculate directions between _____, Philadelphia, PA 19143 and Yardley Road, Olney, Buckinghamshire MK46 5EH, United Kingdom.

Too bad. They used to say something like "drive to New York and swim". They're losing their sense of humor too.

When we were in MK we would come down the A34 to Oxford then across to Swindon and down to you. The reverse of this should work to get you in the general area.
