Home again, home again

I brought the Countess home this morning, with six kinds of eye drop and some antibiotic tablets for an infection I'm fairly sure she had before she went in. The eye is drastically bloodshot, but otherwise okay, and hopefully will heal clean.
Some fool on the telly just said words to the effect of "You might say Raphael was a genius. A genius is a magical being who can do miracles. There is no such thing." Right. And you might say Jellicle is a cat. A cat is a twelve-foot tall octopus with electric blue angora fur that flashes. There is no such thing.
Humpty Dumpty is all very well, but words have to mean one thing and not another. A genius is not a magical being and never was. (I suppose the poor fish might actually not know the difference between "genius" and "genie"...can't explain it otherwise.)
Anyway...the upstairs computer now won't work at all, and I don't know why. The dongle is of course prime suspect, but I can't even imagine the logic that lets a computer work fine with added tech for a day and then refuse even to boot. So grump.
