It's part of the "us versus them" mentality. 'Obviously', to that sort of mindset, if you don't agree with them then you are either ignorant (haven't read or understood it), or it 'offended' you (because, in this case, you are influenced by the devil), or you know it's true but are wilfully denying it (which also means that you are influenced by the devil). They, unlike most people of whatever belief (or none) I know, do not accept that there are any other possibilities. Black or white, you are either one of God's or one of Satan's -- one of 'us' or one of 'the enemy', and if the latter you are one of ignorant, deluded, or evil.
Richard Dawkins also exhibits that behaviour, it's not limited to Christian and other religious people (although they may not actually use the 'devil' they often blame other malign forces). I've seen it in other areas as well, with sports fans and SF fans.
