I don't know if this would help or apply in your situation but there is a free "screen reader" available on the web. It's called "System access To Go". I have not used it myself but have heard good things about it and the price is right. Perhaps this might help in being able to access information on the screen. I doubt it would do much for your graphics application but it could help her use Dragon Naturally Speaking.

If I can help re using a computer with little or no sight I'll gladly pass along whatever knowledge I have gleaned.
