I know how you feel. Last week I met a mother whose infant son (19 months!) was serenely watching his favorite show on an iPod. To me, that's even sadder than the phone, for at least with the phone you reach out to the world rather than withdraw from it. And yet I cannot help but wonder what effect today's technologies will have on these children as adults.
