And tonight I watched, for some reason best known only to the gods, quite a lot of The Most Annoying Pop Songs Ever, or some such title. As usual with these listing programmes, there were some I liked, some I didn't like, some I didn't care about, and a whole lot of people pontificating to no effect whatsoever and showing themselves up as incapable of comprehending any song more complicated than 2 Unlimited's "No Limit" (of which I was interested to learn that Smash Hits magazine printed the entire lyrics, presumably having an inch or so to spare at the bottom of a page). Irony seems also to be something that managed to elude most of the (predominantly British) "experts" on display; several of them took REM's "Shiny Happy People" at face value and were irritated by the idea of someone singing about people being happy.

In summary, I myself would be very happy indeed if I thought that a programme of this sort in fifty years' time might include one of my songs. (Actually, I'd be happy if I thought any of my songs might still exist in fifty years' time.) Any nominations?

I have a DS9 story I'm writing that includes one of your songs :-)

Sam's Song? And Sir Jock, maybe. Judgement Day, too, perhaps, if we carry on using the rhythm as an identifying knock.

I can imagine that "Deskbound" would be quite irritating after a while, if I sang it at people enough times per day, every day...

I'm quite willing to test this theory, if you like? =:o}
