We went to see a movie
Jun. 23rd, 2011 09:48 amGreen Lantern, to be precise. Jan used her get-my-carer-in-free card.
It was very loud, like all modern films, and there were many instances where something very fast was going on in extreme close-up and we couldn't actually identify it. I'll be glad when that particular fad is over. If a car is going over a cliff or something I am quite happy to watch it from a distance, as I did in all those beloved telly series of my youth (usually the same car); I don't actually have to be under the bonnet at the time. Or maybe we're just getting old.
Apart from that, though, we enjoyed it very much and found it quite true to the comic we enjoyed as children, mutatis to some extent mutandis of course. They're really getting good at doing aliens. I'd say this was one of the good comic movies. Sadly, we seem to have missed Thor in cinemas, but there will be other options, I'm sure.
And of course next month "it all ends."
