Also, I see in Private Eye that Philip Pullman has come out with a new book, The Good Man Jesus And The Scoundrel Christ, in which all the badness in organised Christianity is put down to Jesus having an evil twin. A sadly missed opportunity in my view. If he had written The Good Man Jesus And The Scoundrel Paul, now...I know Father Rede would have approved that. Then again, it's been done at least once, by Hyam Maccoby in "The Mythmaker," and probably many many more. Still, I suppose I shall have to read it, if only to see how he justifies Mary naming her second child with the Greek word meaning "anointed"...
The book I really want to get, though, is this one. Maybe next Tuesday...
EDIT: oh which reminds me. I have, courtesy of the nice people at SFX Towers, two brand new Warhammer 40k books, "The Lost" by Dan Abnett, and "Flesh And Iron" by Henry Zou. Not really our kind of thing, so if anyone wants them, free to a good home, via mongol or personal collection. If not, I'll spice up the selection at the local charity shop.
