(no subject)

I've been startled twice in two days by the response to two posts. First of all I posted that it was mean to be glad when someone gets hurt, and was told that it depends on who that person is, which was unexpected. And then I tried a little sort-of-Swiftian satire on the concept of representative government, and people seemed to be taking me seriously, which given my previous outpourings on the subject surprised me even more.
