Some of my readers may recall a thing called Babylon 5. For me it was a milestone in sf--not just sf telly, but the whole of the field. The only thing that's affected me as much in recent years was the Lord of the Rings trilogy of films, and they had a hefty boost because I already knew and loved the book. B5 came out of nowhere, took a while to engage me fully, and left me shell-shocked with the magnitude of the achievement and believing that one day all telly would be made this way...and in some ways, it is. I think that's a good thing.

I mention this now because I happened to discover the other night that Joe Straczynski is publishing all his scripts (the ones he personally wrote) for the series and selling them through Cafe Press. He's up to volume three, with number four on the way, and another ten projected. As you might expect, there are also introductions by JMS with lots of stuff I didn't know, and other ancillary material such as photos (b/w only) and memoes, but the main attraction is the scripts themselves. These are big thick wonderful books full of telly history as it was made, and delivery is super quick, as I discovered yesterday when volumes one to three turned up.

I know this might not be everyone's glass of tea, but it certainly is mine. I'll put the link up when I get home in case anyone else is interested.

EDIT: And here it is...http://babylon5scripts.com/

Now I need some B5 icons...;)
