We watched "The Village" last night...
May. 12th, 2005 03:41 pmI have to say this. M Night Shyamalan makes big, impressive, important films out of old Outer Limits episodes.
Really. They're not witty or knowing enough to be TZ. All this one needed was the ploddingly portentous voice-over at the end. ( Possible spoiler )
If Mr Shyamalan has watched the Outer Limits, this is a neat scheme, and should keep him in plots for the next twenty years at least. If he hasn't, it should be gently suggested to him that he do so. Then maybe he'd stop making stuff we've already seen and turn his considerable talent to something new.
