Vengeance: a QUESTION.

Personally (and while being aware that Gerry is a fictional character just like me) I feel the best revenge is not bothering even to think about revenge. I feel this pretty much all the time, the exceptions being those periods of a few seconds, maybe a minute tops, where I am actually too angry at something to be myself. I see no value, no payoff, no purpose and no meaning in revenge, either thinking about it or actually wreaking it.
So I was wondering, how do my friends feel about revenge? If somebody wrongs you, what do you want to do? Forgive them? Try to ignore the seething white-hot ball of rage in your belly till it gives you an ulcer? Make elaborate plans till you feel better and then throw them away? Wait for karma to come round and then go "Ha ha!"? Or, given the capability, would you actually take vengeance for the wrong done? If so, would it be a proportional response, or would you "blow them off the face of the earth with the fury of God's own thunder" (J.E. Bartlet)?
