I agree with most of what you're saying. As I said in another post, death has to matter, and if the afterlife has revolving doors it loses a lot of its importance. I wasn't actually disappointed by Buffy's resurrection: I felt that over the following two seasons she and all the other characters earned it. But I wouldn't have killed her in the first place.
