I'm kind of grateful we have the electoral college in the US which is supposed to prevent mob rule of the sort on display with the Brexit referendum (since the mob isn't often kind to minorities), at least when the Supreme Court doesn't interfere. This isn't to say I'm not interested in changing the narrative of the left into something that can appeal to both hearts and minds. Because you're right, that absolutely must happen if we don't want Drumpf with his thumb on the button.
