nuWho in brief

* One of the things that grates on me most of all about nuWho is the trick of making the Doctor look stupid for a cheap laugh. Clearly, this is something that the new showrunner loves as well.

* River Song is an idiot.

* The Weeping Angels...does anything about them make one atom of sense? I mean, anything?

*Another episode of this rubbish before the next bit of rubbish (which at least we don't know too much about, so it may be something new for a change). I may skip it.

Okay, maybe not that many spoilers...

EDIT: see also this post by copperbadge for the main thing (apart from her idiocy and jerkitude) that bugged me about River Song in this episode. See thing 3. Kind of related to my first bullet point, but better expressed.

I see what you mean. Not certain I agree -- I get the impression Doctor Song is smart, and just smart enough to get in over her head, time after time. It's certainly possible that she's not that smart. But somehow, I doubt even the NuWho Doctor would get as deeply involved as we know he eventuially does, with a woman who's not intelligent.
