Sometimes I'm convinced I'm being experimented on by aliens.

I give you my word I had never, before Saturday, encountered the phrase "keep buggering on" in connection with Churchill or anyone else. I'd have remembered.

Yesterday morning, I listened to a Benny Summerfield audio I hadn't heard before, and there it was. No mention of Churchill, just the phrase.

This keeps happening.

Do you think they will keep that phrase in for the US broadcasts? I'm not sure ...

... but yes, a quick web search reveals that it was a particularly favourite expression on his during "the wilderness years" of the 1930s ...

That happens to me *all the time*. Not with that particular phrase, but the thing where you've never heard a word or phrase and then it crops up four times in one day. Weird.

It was mentioned in the Churchill play a few years back. The one with Ronnie Barker as Churchill's butler.
