Sometimes I'm convinced I'm being experimented on by aliens.

I give you my word I had never, before Saturday, encountered the phrase "keep buggering on" in connection with Churchill or anyone else. I'd have remembered.

Yesterday morning, I listened to a Benny Summerfield audio I hadn't heard before, and there it was. No mention of Churchill, just the phrase.

This keeps happening.

Do you think they will keep that phrase in for the US broadcasts? I'm not sure ...

... but yes, a quick web search reveals that it was a particularly favourite expression on his during "the wilderness years" of the 1930s ...

It certainly sounded right when he used it. And I like it! KBO!

That happens to me *all the time*. Not with that particular phrase, but the thing where you've never heard a word or phrase and then it crops up four times in one day. Weird.

This is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

There's a word for that. I can't remember what it is, but there's definitely a word for it. It's part of pattern recognition, that something newly learned will be noticed more often; it isn't happening more often but it will stand out as important instead of being ignored.

I think your word is "synchronicity"

It was mentioned in the Churchill play a few years back. The one with Ronnie Barker as Churchill's butler.

The Churchill play

Is that like the Scottish play only different ?
