I agree with this one hundred per cent. I will be for ever grateful that I have people in my life who put themselves out to help me, for gods know little or no reward, but simply because they understand and they think I am worth helping. Because of them, I'm here and doing my tiny creative bit to add to the universe while I can.

(I'd also like to mention the first comment, in which it is suggested--indeed, urged--that the writing would be "stronger" if the writer omitted the statement of his personal beliefs about the universe. I find the thinking behind this intriguing.)
