Drums in the deep

So after we got back and went to bed, and Jan put her talking book on, I lay there listening to the faint mumble, and gradually became aware that there was a persistent drumbeat behind it.

"The neighbours?" I thought. We have occasionally had complaints, and have moderated the volume repeatedly, even though Jan can barely hear it as it is. If they were playing music in retaliation, I thought, that's really petty.

Then I went to the loo, and discovered that the drumming was louder on the landing. As I picked my way downstais it grew louder still, and I noticed it wasn't music, just a drum pattern endlessly repeating, like...

The keyboard in the living room. Someone had obviously climbed on to it, and I name no names Jellybean but watch where my eyes rest, and found the on switch and the start button.

Yeah, thanks, cat. Welcome home to you too. :)

One of our kittenz (Marco) shows a distressing inability to understand that when I'm sitting using the netbook, I *don't* want him vaulting onto my lap and treading all over the keyboard.

And he looks *so* disappointed if I intercept him mid-air and deflect him back to the floor.
