The only thing with going 'public' in the media is that if it comes to a court case then it may be prejudiced. I'd suggest legal advice (the C.A.B. for a start) before doing that. (Yes, it's very tempting to splash it all over the papers and TV, but it can be counter-productive.)

I think that the Small Claims Court can handle claims for lack of performance and damages (certainly there should be a damage claim about the garden). And then, unless there is a non-disclosure clause (for which they should be paid), it can be put to the media.
