So the Countess has dressings and hydrogel on her sores, and we're to go back on Tuesday having filled a prescription for more of the same. She's not comfortable having anything on her legs, but on the other hand getting the shoes back on hurt a lot less. I think this was a sensible thing to do. We probably should have done it sooner, but the Countess opted for the traditional Axylides "leave it alone and it'll be fine" method of care, and it took a while for her to notice it wasn't working. So we learn by doing.

Ow, that sounds nasty - do you mind me asking what the problem is?

Diabetic neuropathy in the legs and feet, complicated at the moment by nasty sores that haven't healed. The Fentanyl patches are dealing with the neuropathic pain, but the effect of the gel they put on to lift the scabs, and the unaccustomed constriction of the bandage, are apparently filling in quite nicely. :( Hopefully, though, that will be temporary.

Ow again. Here's hoping it is!
