Grumping about the latest RTD/NuWho atrocity in someone else's comment thread (they think bringing back Catherine Tate is going to be "refreshing"), the following exchange drifted through my consciousness...

"I trust the sight of the young people refreshes you."

"No, Sir. It does not refresh me."

"A pity. One should always be open to the regenerative influences."

Guess I'm just not.

In the spirit of the recent Who meme, if you see this post, and recognise the quote, you might want to respond with another from the same source...

I've never seen (or wanted to) either film, but the obvious quote would appear to be "Burn, baby, burn."

Presumably, though, the quote should only be made on Burns' Night.

This is the first I've seen about it (we evidently have rather disjoint friends lists). Looking on Wikipedia (which has already been updated with the news) to find out who she was (I didn't recognise the name) I see that she's 39, that's rather a lot older than recent Companions (although she may of course be playing a much younger woman, I don't know how old Donna was supposed to be).

But I'd much rather they found someone different rather than bringing back people from earlier episodes...

(I haven't seen the film.)

*sigh*

Well, that killed that stone dead.

The film is of course The Wicker Man (the real one), which I thought some of my flist might know....

I've never seen either version of The Wicker Man but it does seem interesting - enough to wonder if David Pinner and Thomas Tryon were next to each other on the plane to Los Angeles. Harvest Home is still one of my favorites of the latter. :)

D'oh! The Wicker Man! Of course...(slaps forehead)

In the spirit of the original post, if anyone can recognise the source of this quote and post another response from the source material for this one...

"Q. Do the sweet voices of the girls delight your ears?

A. I might have known."
