Aha!

I've been looking for the lyrics of this song for years. I heard it sung on television, and it has stuck with me ever since. Further research has indicated that it was probably sung on a programme called "The Five Foot Nine Show," broadcast on 31 January 1964 (I was eight), and (if I know the Beeb) never repeated and wiped as soon as someone needed the tape. Amazing how things stick in the mind, isn't it?

There's some of that which I don't remember at all, though I must have listened to the record we had of it many times.

This explains a lot about my MIL (a genuine English Lady), who went to Cheltenham , earns her living on the Gee-gees and plays a pretty mean hand of poker!

*snigger*

I've sent it to her!

Nice song :: shame about the Beeb.

Very reminscent of JT Edson's "School Swot" series of paperbacks.
