I'm in Portland, Oregon, USA, so my familiarity with UK politics is limited. The radical/progressive communities here, though, think of themselves as terribly brave for "risking arrest", which has devolved to the point of well-organized street-theatre, with the cops boredly playing out their roles in subjecting people to several hours of bureaucracy. (We *do* have problems with police violence, but those never occur where cameras might be watching.)

You do have an excellent and powerful point here, and it does need more work. I'll see what I can come up with and get back to you.
